Admissions - Sixth Form

We welcome new students into our Sixth Form in Year 12. Admissions in 13 are dealt with on an individual basis due to GCSE and A Level requirements.

The admissions process

Visit Us

Families are strongly encouraged to get in touch and arrange a visit to the Senior School or Sixth Form ahead of registering. This will give you a chance to see a regular school day, enjoy a tour by current pupils, and speak to relevant subject and pastoral staff. The best way to understand life at Dame Allan’s is to come and experience it for yourself! We also hold an Open Morning in September every year, as well as a ‘Life In the Sixth Form’ open evening in November

1
Register

All prospective families must register on our admissions portal to start their admissions journey. They must also complete an application form, which has an application fee of £50.00.

2
Taster Days

Students will be invited to a taster day in February, where they can come and spend the day in the Sixth form with our own Year 11 pupils, and experience lessons in the subjects they are looking to study at A Level.

3
Interview

Entry into the Sixth Form is conditional on GCSE results.  We ask that students reach an academic benchmark in GCSEs (generally 45 points from the student’s best eight subjects). Students are also invited to an interview with the Director of Sixth Form, Mrs Fletcher, and any application is subject to a satisfactory reference from the student’s existing school. Bursary applications will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

4
Offers and Acceptance

Conditional offers will be made within about a week of the interview. Candidates should contact the school on receipt of their GCSE results in August.

We’d always encourage prospective families to get in touch with any queries when undertaking the admissions process. Our friendly Admissions Team are here to help.

A Curriculum Designed to Support Every Child

At Dame Allan’s Schools, learning is designed to inspire. Pupils explore a rich and ambitious range of subjects that extend well beyond the National Curriculum.

Supporting Every Learner

There was nothing so very remarkable in that; nor did Alice think it so very much out of the way to hear the Rabbit say to itself, “Oh dear! Oh dear!
