Learn more about our pastoral care, and how we support our pupils
Families are strongly encouraged to get in touch and arrange a visit to the Senior School or Sixth Form ahead of registering. This will give you a chance to see a regular school day, enjoy a tour by current pupils, and speak to relevant subject and pastoral staff. The best way to understand life at Dame Allan’s is to come and experience it for yourself! We also hold an Open Morning in September every year.
All prospective families must register on our admissions portal to start their admissions journey. They must also complete an application form, which has an application fee of £50.00.
Children applying for years 7 to 10 can sign up for a ‘Jump In’ session where they can come and spend time in the classroom to experience what life would be like at Dame Allan’s Schools. These usually take place in November.
Entry to Years 7, 8 and 9 is through an assessment in maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. This is an online assessment, and is taken on a desktop PC. As part of their time in school, applicants will also take part in some fun team building activities, as well as small group interviews with one of our teachers, where we will have the opportunity to find out more about your child. References will be requested from each child’s previous school.
Most offers will be sent out in early March each year to prospective families. Offer emails will include details of any financial assistance awarded, as well as information on acceptance deadlines (usually around 10 days from the date of offer). For mid-year entry, offers will be sent on a case-by-case basis.
At Dame Allan’s Schools, learning is designed to inspire. Pupils explore a rich and ambitious range of subjects that extend well beyond the National Curriculum.
In the Senior School and Sixth Form, we have curated an environment where every child feels known, cared for and important, enabling them to grow into confident and resilient individuals. We know that a happy child learns best.
