Results Day sees Bumper Crop of Future Medics and Engineers

Dame Allan’s Schools is celebrating a bumper crop of future medics and engineers after one of the most successful A Level results days in recent history.

Seven medics and thirteen future engineers celebrated when collecting their A Level results yesterday, as they take the first steps in what are sure to be challenging and rewarding career paths. Each cohort comprised both successful male and female applicants.

Future medics included: Dea Armstrong, who will be studying Medicine and Surgery at Newcastle University; Harshith Bonam, who will be studying Medicine at the University of Sunderland; Shizey Choudhry, who will be also be studying Medicine at the University of Sunderland; Annabelle Clark, who will be studying Medicine and Surgery at Newcastle University; Charlotte Hunter, who will be studying Medicine at the University of Bristol; Jess Hyun, who will be studying Dental Surgery at the University of Leeds, and Thomas Vicente, who will also be studying Medicine at the University of Sunderland.

Year 13 student Charlotte, who actually dressed as a medic in Dame Allan’s latest advertising campaign said: “I am so happy and relieved to have got my results! I’m really looking forward to beginning my medical studies, particularly getting to work with patients.”

Jess agreed: “I am very relieved but also very excited to take the next step towards qualifying as a dentist!”

Future engineers included: Archie Allen, who will be studying Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Leeds; Haya al Mimar, who will be studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh; Susannah Davies, who will be studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Sheffield;  Roshaan Hussain, who will be studying Engineering at the University of Cambridge; Owen Jackson, who will be studying Aerospace Engineering at the University of Sheffield; Jun Lui, who who will be studying Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London;, Emmanuel Mtiza, who will be studying Mechanical Engineering at Newcastle University; James McGowan, who will be studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Nottingham; Lauren Rolfe, who will be studying Civil Engineering at Newcastle University; Ruari Schroeder-Wotherspoon, who will be studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sheffield; Dhruva Srivastava, who will be studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol; Sam Turner, who will be studying Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering at the University of Sheffield and Max Wilkinson, who will be studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Newcastle University. 

Jun commented: “I’m relieved! I have always loved chemistry and had great support from my teachers at Dame Allan’s.” 

Will Scott, Principal at Dame Allan’s Schools added: “It is always a delight to see our budding medics and engineers succeed on results day. The preparation required for those two career paths encompasses the resilience, passion and can-do ethos that we aim to develop in our pupils, and I wish them all the very best of luck in their studies and beyond.” 

Of all A Level exams sat by Year 13 students at Dame Allan’s in 2025, 78.3% achieved grades A*–B – the second-highest figure since 2005 (excluding Covid years) – and 47.6% were awarded the top A* or A grade.
