A New Shape for the Future
Dame Allan’s Extends Co-Education from 2026
We are pleased to share news that Dame Allan’s Schools will be extending co-education throughout the whole school from 2026.
Our pupils, parents and teachers all know Dame Allan’s as a school where every child is respected as an individual; where they are enabled to thrive and gain the skills they need to succeed in a modern world.
As we prepare our young people for their next steps, we believe that it is essential to deliver the most inclusive school community we can, one that reflects the society in which we want our children to grow up.
Our diamond structure, with single-sex Senior Schools, was introduced nearly 40 years ago, and - as the world around us changes - we have taken the strategic decision to transition to a one school, co-educational approach.
Mirroring the success we have already seen in Junior, Early Years and Sixth Form provision, we will bring together our pupil community and create a single Senior School for girls and boys in years 7 to 11.
We will gradually integrate classes to ensure a smooth and seamless transition with this positive change taking effect from September 2026.
Throughout this work, we will continue to provide your child with the very best teaching and learning experience underpinned by a deep commitment to individual needs and interests. We will share updates on this journey of positive change here on this webpage and have included answers to some questions you may have below.
If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch by emailing communications@dameallans.co.uk.
Thank you for your support as we take this next exciting step in our development.
