1
Register

All prospective pupils must register on our admissions portal to start their admissions journey. They must also complete an application form, which has an application fee of £50.00.

Assessment
  • Nursery:
Children looking to join the Nursery are invited into school for an hour during which they spend time in the Nursery with our Nursery teacher Miss Milburn.
  • Reception:
For children joining Reception, there is an assessment which includes letter and number recognition, sequencing and motor skills. This assessment is with our Head of Early Years, Mrs Ferguson.
  • Junior School:
Children are invited to come and spend the day in school.  They are assessed in mathematics, English and non-verbal reasoning. The assessments are online and are adaptive, and are not designed to be stressful in any way. They take place in small groups of children of a similar age, and children are supported through the process by a member of staff. The children then spend time in the classroom with their year group, to give them the opportunity to experience the Junior School environment.

Offers and Acceptance

Depending on which year group children are applying for, most offers will be sent out within a week of the assessment, and will include information on acceptance deadlines (usually around 10 days from the date of offer).

We’d always encourage prospective families to get in touch with any queries when undertaking the admissions process. Our friendly Admissions Team are here to help.

A Curriculum Designed to Support Every Child

At Dame Allan’s Schools, learning is designed to inspire. Pupils explore a rich and ambitious range of subjects that extend well beyond the National Curriculum.

Supporting Every Learner

At Dame Allan’s Junior School, pastoral care is not just a supporting feature, it is a defining strength.

The School works to create an environment in which every child feels cared for, valued and important. Staff firmly believe that a happy child learns best, and this philosophy underpins daily life across the Junior School.

I shall be late!” (when she thought it over afterwards, it occurred to her that she ought to have wondered at this, but at the time it all seemed quite natural); but when the Rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it
