On Monday 11 November, we took a group of U11 girls to the first ever girls’ football fixture in the history of Dame Allan’s Junior School!

The match was against Cheviot Primary School in the first round of the U11 Girls Becky’s MND Cup. In cold and tough underfoot conditions, the team showed admirable determination and it was great to see them improve their understanding of the game and compete hard for every ball. It was an end to end affair with the crucial goal coming in the last minute of the game for our girls, meaning they move into the second round in a few weeks time. 

However, the final result was a bonus – the best part was seeing the enjoyment the girls got out of the whole experience, running around, having fun, getting muddy and competing hard in a new sport. 

We look forward to seeing their continued development in the game this year!
