Fantastic Further Maths success for A Level Students as 100% achieve Top Grades

In a fantastic year for Further Maths at Dame Allan’s, 100% of the nine Year 13 students who undertook this challenging A Level subject have achieved A or A* grades.

2024 saw a record year nationally for maths A Level exams, with more than 1000,000 students sitting maths and 17,000 taking further maths. Further maths has also seen the biggest year-on-year growth of any A Level subject, with numbers up 20 per cent from 2023.

In an additional accolade, three of the 2024 Further Maths cohort at Dame Allan’s – Francesca Morgan, Dexter Bell, and Denny Shy – have succeeded in securing places at Oxbridge. Francesca will be reading natural sciences at the University of Cambridge, where Dexter will also be attending to study engineering. Denny will be heading to the University of Oxford to study Chemistry.

Other areas of study for this stellar further maths cohort include economics, computer science, mechanical engineering, and aeronautical engineering.
