Sport and Games

Sport is central to life at Dame Allan’s Schools, inspiring pupils to develop skill, fitness and a lifelong appreciation of physical activity. The PE curriculum combines core lessons with games, offering a wide range of activities including hockey, football, netball, rugby, cricket, athletics, tennis, swimming, rowing, gymnastics, dance, volleyball, squash and pickleball.

Specialist teaching, high-level coaches and well-equipped facilities—including an indoor sports hall, fitness suite, astroturf, tennis courts, pavilion and extensive playing fields—ensure pupils receive expert guidance at every stage.

Games and co-curricular opportunities are structured to support all abilities. Pupils are placed in groups to maximise progression, skill development and enjoyment, whether preparing for House competitions or representing the School in local, regional and national fixtures. Strength and conditioning, health and wellbeing programmes and specialist training provide additional support for athletes aspiring to county, national or international success.

Every pupil is encouraged to participate, building teamwork, resilience and confidence. From weekly lessons to competitive fixtures and co-curricular clubs, Dame Allan’s offers a rich and varied sporting experience that reflects the School’s commitment to excellence, enjoyment and personal development in sport for all.
