Product Design – A level

A Level Product Design encourages pupils to think creatively and independently, taking a broad view of how products are conceived, designed and brought to life.

The course explores the relationship between design, materials, manufacturing processes and market needs, challenging pupils to question assumptions and develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.

Pupils learn how designers and architects identify opportunities, research users and contexts and translate ideas into high-quality prototype proposals. Teaching combines practical workshop experience with structured theory, ensuring pupils develop a detailed understanding of materials, emerging technologies and complex manufacturing methods alongside confident design thinking.
