Physics

Physics at Dame Allan’s Schools explores the fundamental principles that govern the universe, from the sub-atomic world to the vast scale of space. The subject develops a rigorous understanding of the laws of nature and their application in the modern world.

Physics is taught as a separate subject throughout the school. In Years 7–9, pupils follow a bespoke course that extends beyond the National Curriculum, supported by independent practical work in specialist laboratories using modern technology, including data loggers and electronic sensors.

Pupils represent the School in national competitions, including the Physics Challenge and the British Physics Olympiad, and the subject provides strong preparation for a wide range of scientific, technical and analytical degree courses.
