Cambiata Choir (Boys’ Choir) runs weekly. They sing a range of pop and rock music from The Beatles to Lewis Capaldi. This choir is for anybody who enjoys singing, regardless of experience.

Diva Voce (Girls’ Choir) runs weekly. They sing a range of pop and rock music by singers like Adele and Taylor Swift. This choir is for anybody who enjoys singing, regardless of experience.

Chamber Choir: SA Sectional runs weekly. It is a sectional rehearsal for sopranos and altos in the Chamber Choir.

Big Choir runs weekly. They sing a variety of pop, rock and classical music.  We strongly encourage all singers to get involved.

Chamber Choir: TB Sectional runs weekly. It is a sectional rehearsal for tenors and basses in the Chamber Choir.

Chamber Choir runs weekly. This is a full rehearsal of all members of the auditioned Chamber Choir.

Junior Chamber Choir runs weekly for pupils in Years 4-6. This is a full rehearsal of all members of the auditioned Chamber Choir.

Junior Choir runs weekly for pupils in Years 3-6. We strongly encourage all singers to get involved.

These practices prepare pupils for the wide array of performance opportunities available to them. Jazz nights in the Newsom Hall, Termly Concerts at St James’ and St Basil’s Church and Newcastle Cathedral, fortnightly Live for Five recitals in the Lumsden Hall, performing arts productions, music competitions, performances for the local community, pupils are even asked to perform at various school events such as prize giving events or open mornings.

There are many significant benefits to studying, performing and creating music including:

• improved personal mental health, including reduced levels of stress and anxiety
• fostering of teamwork, creative and social skills
• developing self-discipline, time management and critical thinking ability.
