Throughout the 320-year history of Dame Allan’s, many prominent leaders have shaped the school, yet Andrew Edge holds a unique place as the founding Head Teacher of Dame Allan’s Junior School and Nursery. His leadership during a period of remarkable transformation, his deep commitment to the school community and his ongoing presence as an invigilator even in retirement, make him an integral part of the Schools’ legacy. His story is one of dedication, adaptability and a deep-seated belief in the power of education – a true Allanian through and through.

Allanian June Lowery was, until very recently, the Head of Unit and Deputy to the Director at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content & Technology. Now, she is a senior expert within the organisation, working as an Equality Coordinator. To mark International Women’s Day, she spoke to us about how her time at Dame Allan’s nurtured her thirst for learning, and how she now champions women within the tech landscape.
