We also offer visits, taster days and classroom experiences, so your child can explore the school and feel comfortable in the environment before joining us. And of course, we’re here to answer any questions along the way, guide you through each step and make sure every child feels supported and ready for what’s ahead.
I look forward to meeting you and welcoming your family to Dame Allan’s.
The first step to joining Dame Allan’s Schools is to register your child here. You can find out more about the admissions process at each entry point below:
Our Admissions Team is made up of our Head of Admissions and Communications, Mrs Rebecca Miller, and our Admissions Officer, Miss Francesca Sardone.
They are on hand to answer any questions you have about the admissions process, to arrange visits and tours, and to generally make sure that your child’s transition to Dame Allan’s is as smooth as it can possibly be. No question is too small, from uniform queries, to transport, and even lunch options.
As we are a selective school, children entering the Junior School, Senior School, and Sixth Form are required to sit an entrance assessment when applying for a place. An invitation will be sent only to those children registered with us. The style of the assessment varies depending on the age group, but references from a pupil’s current school are required at all ages.
Our entrance assessment days are designed to feel relaxed and friendly — children work in small groups, join in with fun activities and are looked after throughout the day by our Sixth Form buddies. We’re not just looking at exam results; we want to understand your child as a person — their interests, their strengths, how they learn and how they get on with others. We’re very proud of our child-focused entrance assessment process, which recently won a coveted national industry award.
