Pupils explore advanced pure mathematics alongside applications in mechanics and statistics. Topics include complex numbers, proof by induction, matrices, vectors and second order differential equations, developing precision, logical thinking and intellectual resilience. Teaching within the department is rigorous and supportive, with staff passionate about challenging pupils to think independently and mathematically.
