We aim to foster a life-long enthusiasm for learning
“They develop quickly into mature young people who ask perceptive questions that deepen their knowledge and understanding.” ISI Report 2011.
At the heart of Dame Allan's Junior School is the belief that learning should be fun with plenty of lively activities, interesting visits and exciting projects.
Girls and boys can join Dame Allan's in the nursery from the age of three. The family atmosphere of the school and its traditional values ensure that children develop a sound base for their future success.
Pupils work in small classes and follow a wide and varied curriculum designed to meet the needs of the individual child. Pupils are encouraged to take part in a range of extra-curricular activities.
When they reach Year 4, the aim is still to make learning fun, but it is focused on preparing the pupils for the transition to the senior Boys' and Girls' Schools. They follow a challenging and broad curriculum to equip them with a wide range of thinking and learning skills, augmented by a full programme of clubs and activities.
During their time in the Junior School pupils are inspired to follow a lifetime love of learning and the importance of respect for themselves, for each other, for adults and for their environment.
