Welcome to Dame Allan’s Senior School

There’s something special about the atmosphere at Dame Allan’s Senior School. From the moment you walk through the doors, you notice it — pupils chatting with teachers, throwing themselves into rehearsals or training, heading off to clubs and practices. It’s busy, purposeful and full of energy.

As Director of Senior School, what I value most is seeing young people grow into themselves here. These are the years when interests become passions, confidence builds and ambitions start to take shape. Our job is to give pupils the opportunities, encouragement and challenge to discover what they’re capable of — and then help them go further than they thought possible.

School life is built around shared experiences. In classrooms, studios, labs and on the pitches, pupils work side by side, learning from one another and growing in confidence. They’re encouraged to be themselves, aim high and look out for each other. It’s a Senior School I’m proud to lead, and I hope you will come and see it for yourself.

Mr David Ridley

Director of Senior School
Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, “and what is the use of a book,” thought Alice “without pictures or conversations?”

A day in the life at our senior school

There was nothing so very remarkable in that; nor did Alice think it so very much out of the way to hear the Rabbit say to itself, “Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be late!” (when she thought it over afterwards, it occurred to her that she ought to have wondered at this, but at the time it all seemed quite natural); but when the Rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it

Learning in Small, Focused Class Groups

With small classes and dedicated staff, we know our pupils well.

That close relationship allows us to support each pupil personally — encouraging them when they need reassurance, stretching them when they are ready for more and celebrating every success along the way.

A Curriculum Designed to Support Every Child
