100 per cent of Year 11 dance pupils at Dame Allan’s Girls’ School have achieved top grade 9 (A*) scores in their dance GCSE examinations.

The talented group - Tamzin Charlton, Emily Clements, Amelia McCormack, and Mabel Turnbull - celebrated today at the Fenham-based independent school, as together they collected a whole host of impressive grades from across the academic spectrum.

"I'm really pleased with my grades, and a little surprised!" Tamzin commented. “I really enjoyed taking dance, particularly the practical side of it.”

Amelia agreed: “ I am so pleased with my GCSE grade in dance. All of the teachers were so supportive and it was great to learn with my friends - we all help each other out so in some ways it feels like a ‘team GCSE’!”

Amelia added: “I’m part of the Vizavis dance company at Dame Allan’s and I will definitely continue to perform with them once I begin my A Levels in the Sixth Form.”

Principal at Dame Allan’s Schools, Mr Will Scott said: “At Dame Allan’s, we’re dedicated to helping pupils to develop into well-rounded individuals as they pursue their passions, so it is wonderful to see our girls thriving in dance as part of their very busy GCSE workload. A suite of all 9s is very impressive indeed!”.
