Dame Allan's Sports Awards 2025 Winners Revealed

The Dame Allan's Sports Awards were once again held at Newcastle Eagles' Vertu Motors arena on 16 May, where pupils, families, and staff gathered to celebrate sporting achievements across the Senior School.

A particular highlight during the awards was the attendance of guest speaker Sarah Hunter, who spoke about her distinguished career in professional rugby, including her time in the England squad. 

Speaking about the awards, Dame Allan's Director of Sport Mr Alun Barlow said: "The sports awards are an opportunity to share and celebrate our sporting successes over the year. As always, I am thankful to all of our pupils for representing the school colours with such pride, passion, skill and determination!"

Awards were given for both team and individual achievement in sport, covering disciplines from badminton and rugby, to rowing and dance. 

The major winners of the night were:

  • Trophy for Commitment to Sport (DAGS) - Ella C (Y10)
  • Trophy for Excellence in Sport (DAGS) - Lillie QC (Y13)
  • Captain's Award for Leadership (DAGS) - Sophie T (Y13)
  • SJ Rickaby Award for Middle School Hockey - Annie D (Y11)
  • Jane Donald Award for Athletics - Rebecca E (Y10)
  • JP Ross Trophy for Running - Zoe M (Y13)
  • Director of Sport Award for Sports Leadership - Freya M (Y12)

  • Trophy for Excellence in Sport (DABS) - Okiki S (Y9)
  • Captain's Award for Leadership (DABS) - Max W (Y13)
  • Team of the Year - U18 Girls Hockey
