Dame Allan’s Schools and Tynedale Rugby Club have agreed an exciting new partnership for the 24/25 academic year, helping to further enhance rugby provision at the Schools.
The school and the popular Northumberland rugby club have joined forces to help support an already strong rugby provision at Dame Allan's Senior School. The partnership will give Dame Allan’s pupils access to additional expert rugby coaching.
Mr Carl Fearns, coach at Tynedale RFC and former Newcastle Falcons player, offered his expertise during this dedicated pre-season training session, leading pupils in exercises designed to improve their tackling skills amongst other drills. He said:
“I thoroughly enjoyed my morning working with all the pupils at Dame Allan’s School. It was great to see so many boys attending pre-season training, they were all engaged and eager to listen and learn, a real credit to the school. I wish them all the best for the upcoming season.”

As well as coaching sessions, Tynedale is also providing Dame Allan’s Schools with pitchside advertising, as well as tickets to upcoming matches for pupils, to help inspire the next generation of talented rugby stars.
Mr Adam Hay, Head of Rugby at Dame Allan’s Schools, commented:
“It’s really important to Dame Allan’s to support local communities and grass roots rugby; Tynedale has done so well with their extensive Junior programme and getting more people playing rugby and enjoying sport. They are a great fit for us in terms of a partnership and we are excited to work with them throughout this year to develop and inspire our young rugby players. It was particularly rewarding to see them working so hard with Carl during our first training session!”
Ian Lewis, Head of Commercial at Tynedale RFC added:
“I’m very pleased that we have been able to partner with Dame Allan’s to support their rugby provision. My children in fact attended the school some time ago and my son really enjoyed his time there as a rugby player. So, I’m hoping that this partnership will go some way to developing other passionate players.”
