We are proud of the excellent academic results that our Girls’ School achieves consistently each year. We are consistently in the top schools for academic performance for Newcastle upon Tyne and the North East.
In 2015 the Girls’ School set a record for Dame Allan’s Schools with more than eight out of every 10 papers sat graded an A or A*. In 2016 it was named the best performing girls' school in the North East and in the top 30 in the country with 77.8% of papers sat by our girls graded A or A* in the GCSE examinations. This year over 20% of GCSE papers were awarded the highest GCSE grade of a 9, more than four times the national figure, and a fabulous 82.4% of papers sat by our girls were graded A or A* in GCSEs that still used the A*-G grading system.
Our Diamond Structure contributes greatly to the academic success at GCSE level, boys and girls learn differently and at different rates and at Dame Allan’s Schools we are able to cater for this.
