Academic

We are proud of the excellent academic results that our Girls’ School achieves each year. We are consistently in the top schools for academic performance in Newcastle upon Tyne and the North East.

Our Diamond Structure contributes greatly to the academic success at GCSE level. Girls and boys learn differently and at different rates. At Dame Allan’s Schools, we are able to cater for this thanks to our separate Girls' and Boys' Schools where teaching styles can be tailored according to these needs.

In 2023, over 64 per cent of GCSEs sat by our talented year group of girls were awarded grades in the 9 - 7 range. We are also proud that approximately a quarter of all GCSEs were awarded the highest grade 9 result.

Most importantly, our girls consistently break academic gender stereotypes by achieving impressive results across a diverse selection of subjects. They set ambitious goals for themselves as individuals and we are thrilled when they exceed their own expectations.
