Dame Allan's Schools were founded in 1705 when Dame Eleanor Allan's endowment provided an education fo 20 poor girls and 40 poor boys from the parishes of St Nicholas and St John in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The founding principle of this philanthropic support continues today in the modern day Dame Allan's foundation as independent co-educational schools with over 1000 pupils from Nursery to age 18.

Dame Allan's Schools are committed to providing an outstanding pupil experience and the Development Office works with alumni, friends and supporters to develop their philanthropic interests and engage them in the life of the Schools.

The continuing generosity of our alumni, friends and supporters is increasingly important and exciting opportunities for philanthropic giving are available to all. We have identified two areas of need where we ask for your support. They are:

      • Widening participation

Ensuring able and interested young people can come to Dame Allan's Schools regardless of their ability to pay fees or family circimstances.

      • Providing top class facilities

Dame Allan's Schools are committed to the improvement and development of facilities and state of the art equipment across the Schools.

With your support we can provide bursaries and scholarships to increase opportunities to all of our young people, and we can provide specialist equipement and improved facilities to ensure the very best pupil experience which would not otherwise be possible.
