Curriculum

The curriculum at Dame Allan’s is broad, varied and exciting. Whilst subjects follow the National Curriculum broadly, as an independent school we enjoy the freedom to extend pupils’ knowledge further.

We offer a broad and balanced range of subjects from Years 7 -9, helping our students to develop new skills and prepare them for the challenges of GCSE courses. Alongside the core maths, English and sciences (chemistry, physics and biology), students study two foreign languages, take part in a wide variety of sports and learn skills needed for a future in computing and D&T. The humanities are of course very important, and they study geography, history and RS both in the classroom and on fieldtrips.  Students study a variety of arts subjects including music, art, dance and drama and they learn valuable life skills in critical thinking, food and PSHEE lessons.
